Hello everybody

I am trying to understand something
I hope you have an idea and think with me about it because it is really strange

we know that the word uncommon is the opposite of common

It is not uncommon to find birds in the sky.
it is common to find birds in the sky.
I guess both sentences have the same meaning
If you don't agree please explain why
why do they use "not uncommon" instead of "common" which is easier and shorter in writing
I don't understand why to use the difficult way instead of the easy simple way ? Is there any reason ?

Please if you have any idea just write it to get to a conclusion about this

one of my professors told me
" ENGLISH IS A LANGUAGE OF EXCEPTIONS"
that means each exception has an exception

Maybe when people use the word not they give more emphasis on the meaning,,,i mean when we use the negative statement it's easier to convey the message..I know that both has the same meaning but this is English...and u know that it's one of the craziest languages in the world

I think that using (not uncommon or common ) differs according to the type of the text that is belongs to

It is about realty or sense like saying there’s fish in the sea, It is common sense there’s fish in the sea

Or

There’s creator for the whole world, it’s not uncommon sense to say that

Guess somebody says

Do you know there’s god

Your answer

It is common (sense) there’s god

Or

It is not uncommon (sense) there’s god
